EMiC

EMIC explores female performativity within the domestic and interior space.  Through the use of photomontage and sculpture this series explores notions of power, desire, possession, and containment. Presenting domestic interiors as the nexus between social discourse and female body culture this work engages in a dialogue with the idealised, sexualised and abject female forms.  Various images have been sourced from interior design magazines to create fantasy environments, which act as a set for an unknown female character.  With the placement of a figure within a scene, these domestic spaces become psychologically charged, playing out an unknown narrative within a disjointed reality.
